Although the Conveyance program does not require conveyance owners to have maintenance contracts for their conveyances, the Conveyance Regulations do require owners to ensure that specific maintenance-related activities are completed.

If a facility does have a maintenance contract with a licensed conveyance contractor, OPS encourages owners to be familiar with the contract to enable them to identify whether all tasks listed in the contract are being accomplished on the contract-scheduled frequency.
