Enforcement

The Enforcement Officer works with each of the programs within the Division of Oil and Public Safety to ensure that regulated facilities operate within the regulations and statutes and remain in compliance. They actively work with regulated parties to resolve compliance issues, answer questions, offer guidance and assist them with getting the facilities back into compliance.

The main focus of enforcement is to be protective of human health and the environment through compliance with the established Federal and State regulations and statutes. The requirements of the Code of Colorado Regulations 7 CCR 1101-14 (Petroleum Storage Tanks) and 7 CCR 1101-15 (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and the Colorado Revised Statutes Title 8, Articles 20 (Fuel Products) and 20.5 (Petroleum Storage Tanks) are administered by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, Division of Oil and Public Safety.
